Coaching Overview
Our program is committed to player development at all ages and levels fostering technical and tactical competence in a positive, supportive and fun environment. We want the players to be comfortable on the ball and balance possession skills with the ability to play in a fluid attacking style. SRS emphasizes ball skills in the younger age groups and tries to build on those skills as players get older. Success in the SRS is evaluated on player development and a positive experience for the players and families.
At SRS we advocate for players moving to higher levels of play and recognize our role in pushing players on to other programs when the time is right for the player and their family.
Our Philosophy
The presentation of the U.S. Soccer coaching curriculum is another major step in the implementation of the framework developed by the Player Development Task Force, which was created in 2006 to review all aspects of player development in the United States and recommend a course of action.
The curriculum attached is designed to improve the development of players in the organized player base in the United States, concentrating on creating more organized, age-appropriate training sessions, developing coaching practices, and creating an environment that is fun for the players.
At SRS we adopt this framework as our blueprint for player development across all ages.
